So the other day I was flipping through one of those local little newspapers when my eye was drawn to a picture of someone’s pointer finger tied with a red string, and the caption, “I know there is something I have been meaning to do…”
Naturally I kept on reading, because I’m always worried that there’s something I’ve forgotten to take care of.
Continuing on I read, “If you are like most of us, taking the time to document your cremation arrangements is something easily put off, but something you have been…meaning to do.”
Um, nuh-UH!
Is this really what “the rest of us” does? Because I think that this time, I’m REALLY HAPPY to be an outsider.

Well, it’s in the will. And ob:wife knows about it.
I suspect by “documenting” they mean “give us money for signing up with our company and paying us money now”. That is something I haven’t done.
I suspect I’ll be put in a old bass boat, soaked in gasoline, and pushed out in the middle of the lake in a flaming spectacle — with “We Are The Champions” playing on a cheap boom box.
As long as I’m really dead, that’s fine with me.

I like your plan-I can hear the music now π

Since I have had to deal with all sorts of death and death arrangements…and it is a bit stressful trying to figure out what the hell someone wants me to do with their body (Decisions…decisions!!!) everyone gets cremated!
And since I am not a “bury me in the ground and rot” kind of gal…my fella and boys have the “arrangements” clear. Burn me up and chuck me somewhere that is easy. I won’t care π
We have had these kind of conversations over dinner;)
Jenny says
Um, I don’t know how to talk to you anymore π
