Thirteen Things about Jenny Ryan
1. I am afraid to stand behind my car and reach a-l-l the way into the back of the trunk because I know the moment I do, someone will come up behind me, push me in, and lock me in the trunk forever.
2. I am afraid to go to the bathroom during thunderstorms lest the toilet be struck by lightening and render me infertile and unable to ever again enjoy marital relations.
3. I am afraid that if I ever completely finish an entire alcoholic beverage by myself that I will instantly become a raving alcoholic. And so I never ever have.
4. I am terrified of running out of stale bread at the park and being pecked to death by an angry mob of ducks and geese.
5. I am afraid to be outside at night because I am afraid that bats will come and nest in my hair. It doesn’t matter if there are no bats anywhere near me, clearly NIGHTTIME=BATSNESTINGINHAIR TIME
6. I am afraid to call people-any people-on the phone.
7. I used to be afraid to order fast food because I had to talk to people by way of those scary speaker thingies.
8. It occurs to me that I might possibly be afraid of (talking to) people.
9. I am afraid I might somehow read every book in the entire known Universe and one day be left with nothing new to read.
10. I am afraid of imaginary snakes.
11. I am afraid that if I ever resolve all of my issues with my hair and my weight that I will then have nothing to think about all day and thus be r-e-a-l-l-y bored.
12. I am afraid that, when I am walking outside, if I don’t step on exactly the same number of pavement cracks with my right foot as I do with my left foot, that my feet will fall right off and I will have to spend the rest of my life hobbling painfully around on my sad little leg stumps.
13. I am afraid that if I actually reveal these inner workings of my mind on my blog, that I will scare away all of my readers.

I’m first! Gosh it must be tough to have all of those fears. I admit I don’t like talking on the phone or ordering fast food and used to be more apprehensive about it, but am much better now. My list is up!
Oh, my grandmother was forever warning me about #2. Not so much the rendering infertile and unable to enjoy marital relations part — just that I could be electrocuted to death. ; )
My TT is up!

I don’t like calling people on the phone either. My stomach knots up and my heart pounds like a gazillion times faster than it should. This was really rather depressing when I worked in a call center. :\
I’m also afraid of running out of bread at the park, but not because I’ll get attacked (though I hear them canadian geese are just savage so it might happen) but because I’ll have no bread left and then my new found friends won’t be my friends anymore!
Okay, I’ve heard of #2, and I can kinda relate to #3. I never order a drink, because I’m afraid that the person who says they will drive might decide to have a drink after all. Does that make sense? Anyhow, thanks for sharing….I don’t think you have scared anyone away! Happy TT!
wow – i don’t what to say but i hope that there are people who are helping you with at least some of these phobias. scary.
my tt is up – please stop by.

“6. I am afraid to call people-any people-on the phone.”
I also have this fear too. š I don’t mind getting phone calls but I don’t like making them. That’s why I always resolve to sending text messages to people instead. š
Great list. š Happy Thursday! š
I think i’m the opposite of #6, I often don’t like accepting calls. could just be the person calling though. who knows. But i can relate to a lot on your list!
These are great qurks! I was just thinking tonight of some of the ones I have,.. mabye next t-13 i will list mine. Thanks and have a great day.
Don’t be too hard on yourself… Most of us have a whole lot of fears… some we acknowldege & some we don’t. i guess, if we really sat to think of it, we would come up with much more than 13… The fears are not important, it getting ahead inspite of them that matters…
As for revealing the inner workings of you mind… Most people don’t really do that. We are all to afraid of what others think of us….
Nice TT š
For a long time I was afraid to call people as well. When my mother forced me to call someone, I always asked her “then what should I say?!?! You do it aaaaaw, please?!?!”
Internet is great, you can talk to people, without actually having to talk to them in person š
My TT: http://www.onelifeamongthemany.blogspot.com
I am afraid that we are a lot alike! š
Isn’t it funny, how like, the going to the bathroom thing, you do that run/walk thing to the potty get it over with faster and then you make that 6 foot dive across the room back into the bed? I mean, you *do* do that, right? :::looks around:::
Great list!
My Thursday Thirteen is up!
Happy Thursday, Jenny!
I’m still afraid of calling people… Always afraid it isn’t a good time, or I might say something stupid, or I don’t know what to say, or.. or.. etc.!
My TT is about things that make me happy.
hehehehe.
I’m a little wierd too. No worries about #13;)
Gotta ask, are you afraid of snakes on the plane?
I think everyone has some fears. Mine used to be having to call a business on the phone to talk about something. I didn’t know the person on the other end and it bothered me – as if they ‘knew’ or could ‘see’ me on the other end. š Got over that.
Check out my Thursday Thirteen
Wow, lot’s of phobia’s there. I share the most of them.. but Snakes. Oh no, no way, eeek, get ’em away. Worms too while you’re at it. LOL! Thanks for stopping by and have a great Thursday. -M
well after that list..dont be afraid that I wont be back..your list is funny but kind of sad too..I hope you can overcome some of those fears….my list is up too! happy t13!
We have nothing to fear but fear itself…and those imaginary bat-winged snakes that toss us into the trunk make us drunk and nest in our electrified hair as we kick with our feetless stumps. š
Great list. I don’t think you really have to worry about #13 though. My T13 is up.
I have a thing abotu the phone too–why I prefer email!
Honey, not only will you NOT chase us away, you probably would get more readers by admitting your stuff! š I hate talking on the phone too and will go out of my way to avoid that.
(Bookmarking ya. Anyone that can be that vulnerable in a 13 is someone I want to know!)
Thanks for popping by Snarkypants.
You’d be afraid of snakes on planes, then, right? lol My T13 – Ice Breakers Edition – is up at Bloggin’ Outloud. Thanks! lgp
I used to hate calling people I didn’t know on phone but that got better….I still don’t like being outside by myself at night, for many reasons. Thanks for stopping by mine.
I hate talking to people on the phone too. Always have!
I hate calling people on the phone too… I don’t mind people calling me, but I hate picking up the phone and calling someone I have never called before. My #1 fear is heights… I don’t like elevators that go up high, don’t like standing near the edge of high buildings, don’t like ladders…
Thanks for stopping by!
*running away screaming j/k I’m afraid of stairs that are open, like apartment stairs, fire escapes, things like that.
Lots of people have fears, now some are understandable and some are not so easy to understand, but hey if you fear it, you fear it! I personally fear snakes, I see a snake, watch me run screaming like a mad hatter.
Happy Thursday, hopefully fear free! š
Hahha I like the fear of going to the bathroom during a thundstorm!
I’m with you on #6. I avoid the phone as much as possible.
But for #9, my fear is just the opposite–I’m afraid I’ll end up missing The Best Book In The World because there are just too many out there.
As for #13–no, you just made us all feel less silly about our own fears. š
No chance of #13…blog readers are pretty faithful. So, it’s okay if you can’t talk in front of people, blogging is enough! š HA!
My TT is up!
As I was reading I was thinking, “wow, what odd fears” but then I made a list of mine and let’s just say, I now think your fears are perfectly normal. LOL
#4 gets me! We go to feed the ducks and geese on our trips to the library, and if those geese are hungry, they are scary! They chase my kids! Maybe that’s their way of revenge, for having kids chase them all day!LOL!
Have a great Thursday!
Glad to know I’m not the only one with most of those same fears; especially the snake one.
OH, and yes, I really do smoke cigars but only on a rare occasion, or at least when I can afford the finest ones. š
You know, if you scare people away…they aren’t worth having as readers anyway!
My fear about resolving my weight issues is that I’ll learn all the things I keep from doing–because of my weight, I don’t do because of my personality!
Great vulnerable list. I’m proud of you for taking the risk to post it! It’s healthy!
I’m SO with you on #4!!
Ha ha ha at #2, I still worry about that ;). Our TT this week is the 13 favorite games of the Lil’ Duck – come check it out! Have a wonderful Thursday ;).
Good idea for a T13! I can definitely relate to #8. The idea of having to talk to strangers makes me want to break out in hives. You’re not alone, my friend.
Re:#10…you should probably avoid the film Snakes On A Plane š
I am with you on #9.
I think about my weight all the time….imagine if we didn’t and all the other good things we could think about.
I am not scared off, I think it takes courage to reveal all that you did. You ROck!
As it goes…..The only thing we have to fear is fear itself. YEAH RIGHT. I can think of at least a baker’s dozen variety pack of things to be afraid of. Good for you for being willing to admit yours. =-)
Cindi
Oh, no! fears, We all have some. I am not afraid of bats on my hair , well: never thought of that. Good thing, because we have some, so I will have to erase that thought from my mind! happy TT. Never fear, your readers will always come back to you š
some of them are just hillarious! i think number one is my fave, becausei actually scare easily and i am always paranoid of something happening behind my back. i can’t explain it!
thanks for visiting.
#9 is impossible. Fear not!
Saw a car on tv today that has a special handle on the INSIDE of the trunk, so that if ever you do get locked in, you cna let yourself out! TADA
well you didn’t scare me away!
I am afraid of the phone as well. And shower curtains.
On the contrary! I think you made more of us identify with you.
I ABSOLUTELY HATE talking to people on the phone. At first I just developed a fear of calling like businesses and stuff, but now, I just HATE TALKING ON THE PHONE! I have ADD, and I think it just gives me anxiety.
Interesting! Very interesting.
I’m afraid that I have a few of the same issues.
Thanks for stopping by my TT. Hope you are having a terrific Thursday.
Bats scare the crap out of me. When we visit my SIL, I know they have bats, and I REFUSE to go outside even 2 hours before dark. Don’t know why, I know they won’t hurt me, but they still scare me to death.
Thanks for visiting me today! Happy TT!
Hummm… you got issues!
Thanks for stopping by my garden. š
Great list, I got a kick out of it! Especially #7, talking into those scary boxes at the fast food place is tough š
Have a great day; thanks for stopping by my T13 earlier!
